POLARI DIRTY BOOKS CUM FIRST BIRTHDAY NIGHT

@Trash Palace, 11 Wardour St, W1

7pm-12midnight. Free entry. Free posh bar food.

Paul Burston’s gay literary salon night returns to Trash Palace for our first birthday party and a night dedicated to Dirty Books.

Trash Palace was once The Apollo, and after that The Brain. The venue certainly holds some sleazy memories, so where better to get down and dirty?

And it's our birthday, so who better to celebrate it with than winner of the illustrious Writer of the Year Erotic Award 2008, Mr James Lear?

James Lear is the nom de plume of Mr Rupert Smith, who was our guest author at the very first Polari a year ago and is the writer
of such lusty bestsellers as ‘The Back Passage’ and ‘Hot Valley’. He’ll be reading from his new novel ‘The Secret Tunnel’.

He'll be joined by Jacqueline Applebee, who describes herself as 'a black bisexual woman, who breaks down barriers with smut'.

Plus Dom Agius presents his ‘Children of Polari’ photographic retrospective - taking a louche look back at twelve months of fun and frolics and those who’ve become part of our extended family.

Not forgetting DJs Dom and Paul Burston playing louche lounge and dirty disco.

Bookstall kindly provided by Foyles bookshop.
